I continue to order glasses online and getting reimbursed out-of-network through VSP every year. Sadly, Eyebuydirect no longer sells the frames that I want with my prescription. They still sell the frames, but when I select my prescription, it pops out with this error message:
"Unfortunately, we are unable to fit the frame you selected with the prescription you entered."
In the past, I was able get around this by going to my order history and selecting reorder. But this past year, even that workaround stopped working. So for my latest order, I had to select a different frame.
Here are the orders for the previous frame through the years.
January 2016 - $105.95
September 2016 - $78.95
October 2019 - $81.12
August 2020 - $93.41
August 2021 - $84.56
April 2022 - $84.84
August 2024 - $93.96
The prices have been fairly consistent with no big jump. Hasn't everything else been getting expensive??
After filing for VSP reimbursement, the out of pocket cost is usually around $25.
